Quote Pages: Cover Page

Learn how to add and configure a Cover Page in your quote templates to create a professional, branded first impression for every quote you send.

Written by Laura Acosta

Overview

A Cover Page sets the visual tone for your quote before the customer sees any pricing or detail. It is a branded, full-layout introduction that appears at the beginning of the quote and includes your logo, company colors, a cover image, and key identifying information.

Cover Pages are configured exclusively at the Quote Template level via Company Settings, which means the design is applied consistently across every quote that uses that template. The only element that can be changed at the project level is the cover image itself — typically replaced with a photo of the customer's home or job site.

What Information Appears on the Cover Page by Default?

The Cover Page automatically pulls the following information from your company settings and project details:

  • Company Logo — Sourced from Company Settings → Brand

  • Quote Name — Configured via the Settings tab in the quote editor

  • Date Sent — The date the quote was sent to the customer

  • Company Name — Sourced from Company Settings → Brand

  • Project Name — Sourced from the project’s details

  • Project Address — Sourced from the project’s details

  • Main Assignee's Contact Information — Includes name, phone number, and email

⚠️ The information displayed on the Cover Page cannot be edited directly on the page. It is automatically pulled from your company settings and project details. If any of this information needs to be updated — such as the main assignee's contact info — it must be changed at the source (e.g., reassigning the project or updating the user's profile), not from within the Cover Page itself.

How to Access and Add a Cover Page

There are two ways to access Cover Pages depending on your workflow:

Option 1: Via Quote Templates

  1. Click the hamburger menu (☰)Company Settings (this opens a new browser tab).

  2. Select Quote Templates from the left menu.

  3. Open an existing template using the pencil icon, or click +Add Quote Template to create a new one, or Add Quote Template from Library to import a pre-built template.

  4. Click the blue +Add a page button in the left sidebar.

📱 App users: You'll first need to tap Edit (found in the “You are in view mode” banner) before the +Add a page button becomes available.

  5. Select Cover Page from the Page Type dropdown. The page name will automatically populate as “Cover Page” but can be edited if needed.

  6. Click the blue Add button.

The Cover Page will now appear in the Pages list on the left sidebar.

Note: Only one Cover Page is allowed per quote template. Prebuilt templates already include a Cover Page as the first page — simply click on it in the left sidebar to start editing.

Option 2: Via a Project

⚠️ Cover Page layout settings cannot be changed at the project level — only the cover image can be replaced. To update the layout or design, you must edit the Quote Template via Company Settings.

  1. Open a project and click the Quote tab.

  2. Click the pencil icon on the quote you want to edit. 📱 App users: If you’re accessing the quote from the mobile app, you’ll first need to tap Edit (found in the “You are in view mode” banner above the Pages section) before you can make any changes.

  3. Locate the Cover Page in the left Navigation Pages panel and click it to open it on the right side of the screen.

Customizing your Cover Page

Once the Cover Page is open in the Page Builder, you’ll see the available settings to edit:

Note: The following settings are only available when editing from Company Settings → Quote Templates.

Design Layouts

Scroll down to browse the available pre-designed cover page layouts. There are 12 layouts to choose from — click any layout to select it.

💡 The logo displayed on all Cover Page layouts comes from Company Settings → Brand. Make sure your brand logo is up to date, as it will automatically appear on every Cover Page design.

Design Color Theme Options

You can customize four color roles for your Cover Page. These are configured in the template and apply globally to all elements assigned to that role within the selected layout.

  • Primary Color — Used in major visual areas. Typically your brand’s main color.

  • Secondary Color — Supports the primary color and appears in accent areas.

  • Regular Text Color — Controls most body text.

  • Overlay Text Color — Used for text displayed on top of images or dark backgrounds.

Adjusting Colors

Next to each color box, click the arrow to access the color selection tools. You can use the color picker to choose visually, or enter a hex value for precision.

Once you've chosen your colors, scroll down to see them applied automatically across all layouts, including the one you selected.

Cover Image

Note: This can be done either via Company Settings → Quote Templates or directly within a project-level quote.

To replace the cover image, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Replace blue button below the default image.

  2. A pop-up labeled "Select Cover Image" will appear with the following tabs:

    • Project Files — Photos and files attached to the project. This is where you'll find photos of the homeowner's home. If editing a quote template from Company Settings, you'll see a "Select Project" button to pull files from a specific project instead.

    • Company Files — Shared assets available across your company. More details about this here.

    • Upload — Upload a new image directly from your device. Maximum file size: 10 MB.

  3. Once you've selected or uploaded your image, click Add File.

💡 Most users Replace the cover image at the project level with a photo of the homeowner’s home. This can be selected directly from the project’s uploaded files. Note this doesn’t affect the quote template via company settings.

⚠️ If you click Remove below the cover image, the page will revert to ProLine's default generic cover image rather than displaying a blank space.

Quick Notes on Cover Pages

  • Cover Pages are configured at the template level only. Layout, color, and structure cannot be changed inside a project-level quote.

  • Every Quote Template can have its own Cover Page design.

  • Cover Pages also support Content Cells, allowing you to add pre-filled information, images, or custom text beyond the default layout.

  • All changes are autosaved — you'll see "Changes are autosaved" in the top-right corner.

  • Use the visibility checkbox on each page to hide it from customers while keeping it in the template if needed.

  • If you choose to Delete the Cover Page in a quote and you still want a cover-style introduction, you may use a Custom Page Builder page or a File Page with a pre-designed PDF cover instead.
