What is “Free Caller Registry”?
Free Caller Registry is a website that enables entities making legitimate outbound phone calls to submit their data to the three major providers of call management services supporting the major US wireless carriers once via a standard, centralized experience.
This registry is NOT the same as your phone carrier registration, that should be completed separately. Once your carrier registration is done, registering with the Free Caller Registry is highly recommended, especially for businesses planning to be or are currently engaged in high-volume outbound calling.
Why Register with the Free Caller Registry?
1. Prevent Caller ID Flags
Even legitimate businesses may find their numbers flagged incorrectly due to the volume or frequency of outbound calls. Being labeled as a scam or spam caller can:
Damage your business reputation
Lower call answer rates
Disrupt communication with prospects/clients
Registering your numbers helps ensure that your outbound calls are correctly identified and not filtered or flagged by:
Phone carriers
Hardware providers (Apple & Samsung)
Third-party spam detection databases
2. Take Preventive Action
Don't wait until your number is flagged.
Preemptively registering your numbers improves your chances of being recognized as a legitimate business caller and not a nuisance call source.
How to Register Your Numbers
Step-by-Step Process:
First and foremost - Complete Your Phone Carrier Registration
Before registering with the Free Caller Registry, ensure your phone carrier registration is finalized. For guidance on completing your Phone Carrier Registration, check out this article: Phone Carrier Registration
Once that is done:
Go to Menu (☰)
Scroll down and select Company Settings and select the Phone Tab
Click Register Now under the Free Caller Registry tab**.**
The button will open a new tab with the Free Caller Registry website.
Click Register Here
Enter your numbers and all additional information they are requesting.
Enter verification code
Once all is completed, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page to submit the Form
This sends your information to the main databases used by call labeling systems, decreasing the likelihood of misclassification.
What If You’re Already Flagged?
If your number has already been flagged:
Register it immediately to help correct the classification.
Avoid releasing the number and acquiring a new one unless absolutely necessary.
Changing numbers can disrupt existing communication channels and confuse customers calling you back.
Important Considerations
This is 100% optional but highly recommended.
This isn’t a foolproof guarantee against labeling, but it does significantly reduce the risk.
Higher outbound call volumes increase the chances of getting flagged, but registering your numbers helps keep this under control.
