ProLine simplifies project cost estimation using Per Square Pricing Templates. These templates streamline quoting for area-based jobs, eliminating detailed item breakdowns. This guide explains their function, access, and effective use.
Accessing Per Square Pricing Templates
Click the hamburger menu (☰) in the top left corner of your ProLine account.
Scroll down and select "Company Settings"
A new window will appear in your browser
Select the "Quote Templates" tab on the left side of the screen.
When to Use Per Square Pricing Templates
You're quoting frequently for similar, high-volume jobs.
You want to provide customers with quick options without diving into itemized details.
You're managing labor and material planning separately from the quote.
For complex jobs or where precise ordering is critical, consider using Detailed Pricing Templates instead.
Important: Per square pricing enables quick quote creation but does not provide detailed cost breakdowns. In ProLine, orders can automatically pull cost line items; however, with per square pricing, these items will not appear in detail on the quote, and therefore will not carry over to material or work orders.
Single vs. Multi-Option Quote Formats
Single Option Quotes
Structure: Contains a single line item representing the total job cost per square.
*Note: Our Per Square default templates do not include Structure Pages, but can be added.
Flexibility: You can hide this line item from the customer.
Use Case: Ideal for straightforward projects with uniform pricing. Simply enter your per square rate, and the system multiplies it by the total area from your measurement report.
Add-Ons: Optional add-on pages are available, but there is no structure page by default. You can add and nest one if needed for multi-structure jobs.
Multi Option Quotes
Structure: Includes a structure page with nested option and add-on pages.
Options: Configure multiple tiers like:
Good
Better
Best
Or even extend to Basic and Excellent.
Pricing: Each tier has a different per square rate. The system calculates the total cost by multiplying your tiered rates by the total measured area.
Use Case: Perfect when offering tiered service levels or material grades. Gives customers a clear comparison between different investment levels.
Considerations When Using Per Square Templates
Supplementing Work Orders: If you quote using per square pricing but still need detailed orders, you may need to manually create those or assign that task to another team member.
Flexibility: You can adapt the template by adding/removing structure pages, modifying price tiers, and customizing add-ons to fit your business needs.
