Quote Pages: Add-on

Written by Laura Acosta

Overview

Add-on pages allow you to present optional upgrades that customers can choose in addition to their selected option. Unlike Option pages, Add-on pages are not required selections — customers can accept or decline them independently, and may select none, one, or multiple add-ons.

Add-on pages are commonly used for services or enhancements that fall outside the core scope of work, such as accessories, upgrades, or extended coverage.

How to Access and Add an Add-on Page

There are two ways to add an Add-on Page depending on your current context:

Option 1: Via Quote Templates

  1. Click the hamburger menu (☰)Company Settings (this opens a new browser tab).

  2. Select Quote Templates from the left menu.

  3. Open an existing template using the pencil icon, or click +Add Quote Template to create a new one, or Add Quote Template from Library to import a pre-built template.

  4. Click the blue +Add a page button in the left sidebar.
📱App users: You'll first need to tap Edit (found in the "You are in view mode" banner) before the +Add a page button becomes available.

  5. Select Add-on from the Page Type dropdown, select One-Time Payment from the Page Sub-Type dropdown and enter a page name.

  6. Click the blue Add button.

The Add-on Page will now appear in the Pages list on the left sidebar.

Option 2: Via a Project

  1. Open a project and click the Quote tab.

  2. Click the pencil icon on the quote you want to edit.

  3. Click the +Add a page blue button in the left sidebar.
📱App users: You'll first need to tap Edit (found in the "You are in view mode" banner) before the +Add a page button becomes available.

  4. Select From Scratch

  5. Select Add-on from the Page Type dropdown, select One-Time Payment from the Page Sub-Type dropdown and enter a page name.

  6. Click the Add blue button.

The Add-on Page will now appear in the Pages list on the left sidebar.

💡 When clicking Add a Page, the From Template option lets you pull an existing page from another quote template.

Note: The Page Sub-Type dropdown only appears if the Subscriptions feature is enabled in your account via Company Settings → New Features. If visible, selecting One-Time Payment displays the standard Add-on layout covered in this article. Selecting Subscription displays a different layout — to learn more, see Managing Project Subscriptions.

Note: You can also tie your Add-on page to a Structure page if needed. Any edits made to a quote at the project level do not carry over to the template.

Configuring an Add-on Page

Add-on Pages With and Without a Structure Page

Inside a Structure page: When placed as a subpage under a Structure page, the Add-on is associated with that specific structure. Add-on pages do not inherit Structure Line Items — they only display their own unique items, so customers see exactly what the add-on includes without repeated base costs.

Outside a Structure page: The Add-on applies to the quote globally and functions as a general optional upgrade for the entire project.

Renaming an Add-On Page

To rename a page, click the pencil icon on the blue bar at the top of the page editor where the page name appears.

Banner Image

At the top of the page, you'll find the Banner image section:

  1. Click "Upload banner image".

    • Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG — max file size: 2MB.

  2. Select where to upload from:

    • Project Files — Displays files tied to the project. If you're editing a quote template (from Company Settings), you'll see a "Select Project" button to pull images from a specific project instead.

    • Company Files — Shows files previously uploaded to ProLine's Company Files section. More details about this here.

    • Upload — Lets you upload an image directly from your device.

The image will appear at the top of the page, above the text content.

Description Field

An optional description appears below the banner image. Click inside the description box to activate the text formatting toolbar, which includes bold, underline, italic, outdent, indentation, text alignment, horizontal line, bulleted and numbered lists, and remove formatting.

Use the description to explain what makes this add-on valuable — what it includes, why a customer may want it, and any key benefits.

Add-on Line Items

This is where you add all pricing and materials specific to this add-on. Do not include base project costs here — only items that this add-on specifically adds.

Most users will already have their line items set up in the Price List. The search field in the Add Line Item modal pulls directly from your Price List. Only if creating a brand new line item would you need to enter details manually.

To add a line item:

  1. In the Add-on Line Items section, click +Add Line Item at the bottom of the table.

  2. A modal will appear — select Line Item

  3. Search for the item name to pull it from your Price List, or enter new item details.

  4. Click Add.

Each line item displays action icons on the right:

Icon

Action

Eye icon

Shows or hides the line item in the customer-facing quote

Gear icon

Opens a modal with options to: View Calculation, Replace, Unlock Item, Delete

Note: The columns available in the line items table depend on where you're editing. At the project level, the table displays Supplier, Type, Cost, Qty, and Price. In Company Settings, only Supplier and Type are shown — pricing details are not available at the template level.

Organizing with Section Headers

To add a section header, click +Add Line Item, select Section Header in the modal, enter a label, and click Add.

Overrides

Note: Subtotal Override is only available when editing a quote on a project. This field does not appear when editing a template in Company Settings.

Margin Override — apply a custom profit margin percentage for this add-on page only.

Subtotal Override — manually set a fixed subtotal for this add-on. As the ⓘ icon states: "Subtotal override ignores any calculations and sets a fixed subtotal for the Add-on."

The Margin Override is available in two places depending on where you're editing. At the project level, it can be found in the Overrides section at the bottom-left of the page builder. In Company Settings, it's accessible through the More dropdown at the top-right corner.

Costs per type (project level only)

The Costs Per Type section gives you a quick breakdown of your option's total expenses grouped by cost category — such as Labor and Material.

Each category total is driven by the Cost Category assigned to individual line items in your Price List. When a line item is tagged as "Labor," its cost rolls up into the Labor total; when it's tagged as "Material," it rolls into the Material total — and the same applies to any custom categories you've set up.

This makes it easy to see exactly where your money is going within a given option at a glance.

💡 Want to customize your cost categories? You can add, rename, or color-code categories like Permits, Rentals, or Gutter Labor directly in your Company Settings under the Price List tab. Learn more here.

Price Breakdown (project level only)

Note: The price breakdown is only available when editing a quote on a project, not when editing a template.

The Price Breakdown section shows how the add-on price is calculated, you will find this section on the bottom right corner of the page builder:

  • Add-on costs — total cost of items in the Add-on Line Items section

  • Vendor tax — the tax amount applied to the item based on the supplier's tax rate configured in Company Settings → Locations.

  • Margin — the profit margin amount

  • Subtotal — the final subtotal for this add-on

Note: Click on any line item's price to view a detailed breakdown of that item's cost.

Quick Notes on Add-On Pages

  • All changes are autosaved — you'll see "Changes are autosaved" in the top-right corner.

  • Use the visibility checkbox on each page to hide it from customers while keeping it in the template.

Common Use Cases

  • Gutter replacement during a roof job — Offer seamless gutters as an add-on so homeowners can bundle the work while the crew is already on site, without it affecting the roofing package price.

  • Skylight installation — Present skylight options as an optional upgrade on any roof replacement quote, with its own line items and pricing independent of the main scope.

  • Extended manufacturer warranty — Add a warranty upgrade as an add-on so customers can choose enhanced coverage without it being part of the base package.

  • Lifetime pipe boots — Present upgraded pipe boot replacements as a low-cost add-on that customers can easily accept or decline during the signing process.
